Privacy
Your practice is yours alone.

The short version: your recitation never leaves your phone. Hisn listens and verifies entirely on-device. We don’t record your voice, we don’t upload it, and we don’t sell your data — to anyone, ever.
What stays on your device
Everything that matters. Recitation audio is processed locally in real time and never stored as a recording. Your prayer history, wird and hifz progress, adhkār counts, and consistency maps live on your device (and in your private iCloud backup, if you enable it) — not on our servers.
What we never collect
- No recordings of your recitation or voice.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with advertisers or brokers.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
- No social graph — Hisn is not a social network.
Permissions, and why
Microphone — to hear your recitation on-device for verification. Location — to calculate accurate prayer times locally. Screen Time — to pause the apps you choose during prayer windows. Each is optional, asked for in context, and revocable in Settings at any time.
Accountability partner (optional)
If you choose to invite a partner, only the specific signals you switch on are shared, and only with that person. Missed windows are off by default. You can revoke access at any time, and nothing is shared without your explicit consent.
Your data, your terms
You can export a full copy of your data as JSON, or delete everything from your device, at any time — Settings → Privacy & data. Deletion is immediate and complete. This honours your right to access and erasure (GDPR).
